Removing butt hair is a pain in the ass. No pun in ended. But I say this with seriousness because it is probably the most difficult form of hair removal of them all in the end. Ok, let me stop. Doing it in the way that is best for you takes a little bit of trial and error to find, and doing it in a way that can aggravate your skin will be ineffective and just cause you to have to do it again in a short period of time. Luckily, you've came to the right website for the best tips for removing butt hair.
I'm going to struggle to write this article without too much laughing or humor because while it is a funny subject, it's one that requires a little bit of tact and good advice to do it in a way that is best for you. For all intents and purposes, I'll divide "butt hair removal" into three sections: upper butt hair, butthole hair, and taint hair. All three are important in good grooming, prefacing and stressing the important of good grooming techniques with all three with a little humor I feel is key to help you find what works best for you.
Upper butt hair is the hair that grows right in the top corners of the butt cheeks and as far as the lower back toward the tailbone. Usually this is where ass hair is the most prominent and where it itches the least after grooming. You can pluck this hair fairly easy with a mirror and have fairly good results or shave from left to right, not against or with the grain with an electric razor such as a Norelco Reflex Plus, or any triple-circular bladed razor. I have also had success with using ladies electric razors too, because they are smaller and usually the blade guard has both finer holes, and a closer blade to the inside of the blade guard. Ladies razors are usually better for shaving butt hair for men because they are made to take off finer, shorter hair, like leg hair. A combination of both a men's razor and a women's razor would be the best way to go for this stubborn hair.
Use the beard attachment to take some of the length down, and then a ladies razor such as the Philips HP2715 (a personal fav) to remove the stubble. Less is more with this difficult to remove faction of hair, and do it incrementally. You may even have success with using a regular straight razor such as the Mach 5 if you use a mirror and make sure there are no moles in the area to go over. Remember, a little at a time. This is key, and this is the part of the body where a majority of sweat makes its way into. If you do this right, you will feel much cleaner most of the time. I recommend this method above any others, waxing is another feasible option, but be very wary and try and stay out of the crack or beyond. By no means do you want to ever use a depilatory due to how delicate and sensitive the skin in this area is. Keep this area as clean as you can the first few days after you groom to ensure no ingrown hairs. Work your way into the nape of the buttcrack, which brings us to the second part of butt hair removal.
Butthole hair removal is the single worst part of hair removal on the entire body. This will be a little bit difficult to go over without getting a little too graphic, but I will do my best. Removing this hair is tricky, but I will give what I believe is the best fix. Once you make your way beyond the crack, you will be approaching a trouble area that I have noticed is best handled with one of two methods. Similar to buttcrack hair removal, if you do this in two steps with a men's razor with the beard attachment first, and then secondly with either a ladies' razor or a men's razor with a circular motion style blade, you will have the best luck. Go in circles, not with or against the grain. After you take off a bit of the length in the crack and around the edges of the "balloon knot", you can work in circles just like you would with your face.
I have found that its best to have an entirely different razor to use for genital hair removal and ass hair removal then for the rest of the body, because this hair for me seems to grow a lot faster than the hair on the rest of my body, you might benefit from the same too. Go with a razor with circular blades. The Norelco razors can often be bought at big box department stores like Walmart or K-mart for less than the price of the replacement blades. Its often better to go with a 'less is more' approach for this part of shaving and not to remove all of this hair completely, because this can be a dirty area of your body and you will be more prone to whiteheads, ingrown hairs, or other acne-type bumps that are difficult to deal with.
You can groom this hair a little bit easier if you have a small mirror that you can sit on the lid of your toilet seat and squat over. You will have a delightful view of everything that's necessary to trim and can get into those 'nooks and crannies' much easier this way. Have a light at a little bit of an angle directly above you for best results. If you are feeling really extra brave, I would also recommend using a larger lighter, like a barbeque lighter to burn this hair away. I cannot be held responsible for damage you incur in removing the hair in this way, and I can only suggest this after you have taken the hair down sufficiently so as to not cause what I call a 'hurricane effect' where your hair catches fire and takes off on its own to other areas to remove more hair in a fairly out of control manner, but it is an effective way of removing hair, and while it will possibly smell fairly horrid, it brings us to the third and last part of butt hair removal.
Removing taint hair is also fairly difficult because this area, much like the butthole and buttcrack, is an area where a lot of friction occurs. It is probably the single area where most friction of your body happens on a normal basis, and because of this you should most assuredly only remove as little hair as you can live with to avoid acne. A lot of sweat gravitates to this part of your body without you realizing it, and that is because you naturally have hair there to soak it up. As a result of this, it can get pretty dirty there. Without that hair there, the only thing you have to suck this up is your boxers/briefs/jockey shorts/underwear of your choice. To get used to shorter hair on this part of your body, I would suggest investing in a few pairs of jockey shorts, I wear Under Armour brand jockeys, but any moisture-wicking style underwear will work well, and should keep unwanted acne or infections away after grooming.
By no means should you ever use depilatories on these parts of your body, because the membranes there are very sensitive and you could likely poison yourself. I cannot recommend waxing either, because you will remove too much hair and all at once, which is bad for such sensitive skin. If you remove all of the hair on the taint, you will most likely wind up with ingrown hair, or acne as well. It is best to use your beard attachment on the razor of your choice, and not much else. Your mileage may vary. Again, if you feel brave, I can recommend to you using flame from a lighter such as a barbeque grill starter lighter, or a variable flame regular lighter, but you need to be certain that the flame is very low, as is the hair. I feel that if these tips are followed, you will have a fairly good experience with removing this difficult to groom hair and can pass on this help to others as well.
