Easy hair removal is somewhat of a touchy subject, and some men are bound to dismiss that there are no clear cut steps for removing hair thoroughly and in a regularly routine way. It is my belief that by practicing my three m's, Management, Maintenance, and Minimum, that you can greatly reduce the amount of time you spend in a day or even in a week to a good regimen which will help promote good grooming habits and avoid costly mistakes which can do your skin wrong.
Lets start with the first m: Management. In management, you want to do what you can to get an idea of the "problem areas" where you notice that may require a little bit more time on the whole to groom. Spots like your face, possibly your back, even the insides of your legs, these can all be spots that often require an above average amount of trimming or preening. A good way to tell such areas would be to do what you can to see how much hair in these areas can or will grow in about a week's time. I generally cite a week for growth in problem areas because these areas generally will have thicker hair, or you might notice from trimming or grooming that you get ingrown hairs in such areas.
Spots such as the inner legs where you have skin rubbing against itself is a good indicator of this and as such by gauging how much hair grows here, you will in effect be able to give special attention to these areas with managing and even scheduling more frequently when you decide to trim this hair. for areas such as this, you may want to look into using a lotion after trimming, such as Vaseline Intensive Care brand. You can also look into Gold Bond powder, which works to help with itching of any sort, usually in the pubic area. If you have rougher skin, or happen to have eczema, a product called Bag Balm antiseptic salve may work for you. This product is also useful for treating burns of any type, acne, or blisters. This product may be a godsend for some men because of its healing properties as an antiseptic, and is generally more viscous than products like Vaseline or Chap Stik.
The next m is possibly the most importance, and I cannot stress it enough. Maintenence. Such a powerful word, and with preservation of the first m is clearly your best tool in having easy hair removal habits and routines. Fairly straightforward, maintenance simply requires you to have good grooming and to know the delicate balance between not overdoing your grooming. Do not ever overtrim your body hair and avoid compulsive trimming, doing so generally leads to bad things, ingrown hair, or even worse, infection or accidentally cutting/clipping your skin. In sensitive areas especially ones that you cant necessarily see, such as the crack of your buttocks, this will lead to the mentioned problems that can be more trouble than they're worth in the long run. By practicing good maintenance techniques, you are able to instill a good regimen that you can follow daily or weekly, and over time can actually help your hair grow less than you are used to instead of just trimming when you feel the bushes growing up all over you. Remember, good maintenance habits are not dictated by the amount of time you have to spend, they are dictated by the way you manage your grooming, and will only lead to easier hair removal and better results.
Lastly, the third m, "Minimum", is a reminder of what you are able to pick up and learn about your own easy grooming habits from the first two tips and to tie it together with an overall ethos of how to approach your daily routine. With the minimum, you are guaranteed less time spent overall with even the bare necessities of hair removal. Generally your best tool will be a men's razor with a beard attachment to trim even the most renegade of body hair, but there will always be spots where you need to give a little bit of extra attention and I encourage you to explore and see what options work best for you. For all intents and purposes and simply stated, if you are able to spend a little bit of time a day with an electric razor on both the more hidden spots on your body, as well as spots that people see such as your neck and your face, you will over time master the last m, and realize the importance of the minimum as your skin dictates those little bits of keratin that it pushes out.
Good grooming can be a difficult thing to find for everybody, and surely all men dont practice it the best that they can. We all have different DNA makeups, and some of us are born much more hirsuite than others. Some of us go grey sooner than others, some of us have to shave our faces twice a day. But the goal of forming easy hair removal routines can truly be easy enough for everybody if you can familiarize yourself with the essential products that work best for you in tandem with building good habits that work toward this goal.
